Violinist. Songwriter. Storyteller.

A native Chicagoan, Emily holds violin degrees from The University of Illinois and CCM (Cincinnati). Before joining "Pershing's Own" Army Strings and enlisting in 2003, she played with The Louisville Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Joffrey Ballet.

In 2007 she earned a spot on the Baltimore Symphony Substitute Violin list, performing with them regularly for nine seasons.

2016 marks 13 years of playing in Key West, FL during the annual "Meeting of the Minds" festival, but the first year performing as a solo artist. Emily's debut EP, Girl of My Dreams (available on CD Baby), features both vocal and instrumental originals, in addition to one "cover" of a Bartok Romanian Dance segueing into Allman Brothers' "Whipping Post". Her featured shows this year are at the Salty Angler and Smokin' Tuna Saloon, while other appearances will be at the Casa Marina with her friends and tremendous musicians Peter Mayer, Thom Shepherd, and Keith Sykes. As opposed to touring and performing live, Emily is creating music videos to tunes from "Girl of My Dreams" including the title track; "LaVerne"; and most recently, "Baby Bear", her twist on the Goldilocks tale which involves a 200-year-old cabin, flying porridge, a hand-to-hand Goldilocks/Baby Bear combat scene, and a 5-string electric violin shred solo.

Emily has performed as a section player with Belle and Sebastian, Bjork, Andrea Bocelli, Renee Fleming, Kansas, Kenny Loggins, Richard Marx, Moody Blues, Marc Antonio Solis, Rod Stewart, The Three Tenors, The Three Irish Tenors, and Yes. She can be seen on the archived televised broadcast of 2014's "A Capitol Fourth", in the string section for Phillip Phillips' live performance of "Raging Fire". Emily connected with the trop rock and singer/songwriter circuit in 2001 when she met Peter Mayer, lead guitarist of Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band. After subbing in on the Chicago appearance of Peter's original-music Christmas tour, "Stars and Promises", he invited her to play the 2002 S&P tour and other tours, during which she has had the pleasure of performing with Jim Mayer, Roger Guth, R. Scott Bryan, Mark Holland, and Scott Kirby.

Emily is featured on Scott Kirby's live album "A Night On The Beach" and Peter Mayer's albums "Music Box" and "Echoes of the Season", as well as various recordings by John Frinzi, Scott Kirby, Roger Klug, Dayna Malow, Dennis McCaughey & Tropical Soul, Dave McKenney, Jimi Pappas, Phat Phuncktion, Alfonso Ponticelli & Swing Gitan, Janet Pressley, and The Yellowhammers.
